About us

Shark Gaming builds high-performance gaming PCs. We sell direct to consumers across Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and B2B across Europe. We're around 50 people, and the webshop is a central part of the consumer side.

We've built a real following among Scandinavian gamers and eSports teams, and most of us here are gamers. The culture is direct: we'd rather have the awkward conversation than the polite one.

The role

We're looking for a senior Magento developer to own the platform alongside our CTO. The business sets what we need, but you shape how it gets built — architecture, tooling, and which technical debt we pay down first.

There's more we want to build than we can currently build — new markets, smarter shopping features and better data pipelines.

What you'd own

• Custom modules on Adobe Commerce Cloud, PHP 8.x

• Integrations with payment, logistics and marketing platforms

• Our analytics and server-side tracking pipeline

• Caching and performance as we grow — Fastly, Redis, full-page cache, MySQL and indexing

• Test coverage in the modules and end-to-end

• Smaller frontend tasks in our Tailwind theme, hands-on or by directing AI and verifying the result

What we need from you

• Several years of hands-on Magento / Adobe Commerce development, at a level where you've made architectural calls

• Expert PHP, and fluency in Magento's non-obvious layers — plugin and preference semantics, DI compilation, EAV performance behaviour, cache and index invalidation

• Strong MySQL: indexes, query plans, and knowing when the ORM is the wrong tool

• Integration experience against payment and logistics APIs

• Real debugging instinct, ideally with New Relic or similar observability tooling

• You can take a problem from report to verified fix in production

• Genuine interest in AI-assisted development — it's core to how we work, not a bonus

Nice to have: Fastly or other CDN work, deploy pipelines, analytics and tracking. And that you game yourself.
