Operational CMO
A hands-on marketing leadership role with real ownership
Shark Gaming is a Scandinavian e-commerce company designing and selling gaming computers directly to consumers across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. We operate with short decision paths, clear priorities, and a strong focus on execution and results.
We are looking for an Operational CMO who can run and continuously improve our marketing setup in practice. This is not a classic corporate CMO role — there are no layers of management or long strategy decks. The role is about owning the numbers, the setup, and the day-to-day decisions behind growth.
What Matters Most in This Role
E-commerce expertise — understanding how traffic, conversion, retention, and margins work together
Customer data, CDP & personas — turning first-party data into usable insight
Strong PPC understanding — knowing how paid channels actually perform and scale
What You’ll Work With
Performance marketing and paid media across key channels
Full ownership of CAC, CLV, and marketing efficiency
A small internal team (2 people) and close collaboration with external agencies
The option to in-source agency work where it makes sense
Co-ownership of Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementation together with the CTO
Buyer personas built and refined using real customer data
Ownership of the full customer journey, from first touch to repeat purchase
CRM, lifecycle marketing, and retention initiatives
Marketing budget ownership and ongoing performance reporting
Who We’re Looking For
You come from both e-commerce and performance marketing and are comfortable being close to execution, data, and results. You are used to working with agencies and confident enough to challenge them — or take work in-house when needed.
You enjoy improving setups rather than managing complexity and prefer action over presentation.
You Likely Have
Solid, hands-on experience in both e-commerce and performance marketing (required)
Strong practical understanding of PPC and paid media
Experience working with customer data, CRM, and segmentation
A pragmatic approach to personas and customer journeys
Experience leading small teams or owning marketing end-to-end
Strong analytical and commercial mindset
Fluent English; a Scandinavian language is a strong plus
